Each year, March 8th serves as an opportunity to highlight the progress made and the challenges remaining in achieving gender equality. In the scientific field, inequalities persist, with less than 30% of researchers worldwide being women. However, their contribution is crucial to progress and innovation. To address this issue, the CEA implements various initiatives to promote gender diversity and equal opportunities in scientific and technological careers. Among these, the Brillantes ! initiative aims to increase the visibility of women in science and inspire younger generations to consider these careers.
An immersive experience to envision science.
The Brillantes ! experience offers an immersion into the scientific world through a three-step journey.
Visitors begin by taking a selfie, which is then integrated into the visual universe of the exhibition.
They then answer a questionnaire about their interests and professional aspirations.
Finally, with the help of artificial intelligence, a forward-looking narrative is presented, illustrating a possible scientific future. This initiative aims to show that science is accessible to everyone, regardless of gender or background.
A traveling exhibition to highlight women in science.
In addition to this interactive experience, Brillantes ! is also a traveling exhibition showcasing eight scientists and engineers from the Grenoble ecosystem. Moving away from traditional representations, this exhibition offers a multisensory approach. Through large-scale visuals, text-based synopsis outlining the key stages of their careers, and sound experiences, the exhibition provides various ways to discover these inspiring women.

The CEA’s commitment to gender diversity goes beyond this initiative. Throughout the year, the organization implements policies to promote diversity and ensure equal opportunities. This includes measures such as the promotion of pay equity, equal access to leadership positions, and mentoring programs to encourage young girls to pursue scientific careers. More broadly, the inclusion of women in research is a key issue to ensure that science is representative and relevant to society as a whole.
With Brillantes !, the CEA continues its efforts to promote diversity in research.
